After you apply
Once you’ve chosen your universities and submitted your application, here’s what comes next.

Your application is reviewed
Universities will consider your application, looking at your predicted grades and personal statement. Based on this, they’ll decide whether to make you an offer.
You may be asked for more
Some courses require extra steps before an offer is made. You might be invited to:
-
An interview
-
An audition
-
Submit a portoflio
Any updates will appear in your UCAS Track account.
Check your offer status
Once your application is reviewed, you’ll see one of these outcomes:
-
Conditional offer: You’ll be accepted if you meet the entry criteria.
-
Unconditional offer: You already meet (or exceed) the entry requirements. Accepting this guarantees your place if you make it your firm choice.
-
Alternative course: The university suggests a similar course they feel is a better fit.
-
Unsuccessful: Your application was not accepted. You’ll be able to see the reason in UCAS Track or directly from the university.
Think about student finance
Student finance applications usually open in February or March.
Apply early to:
-
Avoid delays with paperwork
-
Fix any issues before term starts
-
Make sure your funding is in place when you enrol
Top tip: The earlier you sort your finances, the smoother your start to university will be.
